A Hoppin Good Time
On April 9, 2022, I not only had the privilege of attending the Santee Hop Down the Bunny Trail, but I also got to do a book reading for children at the Santee Barnes and Noble.
It was a beautiful morning full of sunshine and a clear blue sky. Children were everywhere holding their cute little egg hunting baskets. Some were handmade baskets with fun creativity, others were wonderfully designed from stores, and even a few were bags instead of baskets but were still very artistic. That day was the Hop Down the Bunny Trail hosted by the City of Santee. Held at the parking lot of the Santee Trolley Station, booths lined up as children hopped from booth to booth collecting cute little plastic eggs and other goodies.
The Easter Bunny made an appearance and had its own booth. Parents lined up their children a mile long for the opportunity to take photos of their children with the infamous Bunny. There was also a giant ride that zoomed screaming children up and down—screaming out of the joy of course.
Stores including Crumbl Cookies, Tilly’s, and Starbucks held games and prizes for the children. Crumbl Cookies was giving ouch vouchers for free cookies! They were huge and DELICIOUS.
Many other organizations had their own booths and games. The City of Santee handed out flyers of upcoming events and we're giving out freebies. Momentum Tutoring had an easter basket decorating booth. They were awesome in providing support for Ms. Wheelchair California and were passing out flyers for my afternoon reading event.
There was even a cute little dancing area for the kids to have fun and boogie. A DJ Booth belted out some fun tunes.
Ms. Santee and Little Miss Santee attended as well. They were giving out cute little crowns.
