San Mateo Abilities Expo

Bonjour! October 26th kicked off this years San Mateo Abilities Expo! I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to represent the Ms. Wheelchair California Leadership Institute with the ADAPTS team and my sponsor WHILL. WHILL brought in their operations manager Cyrielle , who works out of the Amsterdam offices. Cyrielle, who was born in France, schooled me on her exciting role with WHILL and taught me a little French.

We had an amazing time! Over the three days the ADAPTS team had the chance to demonstrate our personal evacuation sling to hundreds of people.

We worked hard helping Californians with Disabilities prepare for emergencies. As I write this, many schools and businesses are closed due to poor air quality from wildfires. I feel incredibly grateful to play a role in helping our community prepare and hopefully save lives in emergency situations.

With Ms. Wheelchair America herself gracing the ADAPTS team with a visit, we definitely had fun in our booth. With our ‘Karaoke Corner with Krystina’👍🏾 and my sister Robyn on the mic performing ‘Thriller’ by Michael Jackson, we had a steady crowd who came out to have a good time over the Halloween weekend.

Robin, my friend and the founder of ADAPTS, set up a meet and greet with the Rollettes who invited me to join them for a friendly dance off!

We had a great time and met some amazing people.

Thank you Savage and the Vitaeris crew for allowing me to luxuriate for 45 minutes inside their portable hyperbaric chamber.

Thank you Marc and his outstanding Adaptive Rock Wall Climbing Team. My ADAPTS brothers even joined in on the fun!

I’m looking forward to seeing everyone in February for the LA Expo!
