About Ms. Wheelchair California 2027
The Ms. Wheelchair California Leadership Institute Competition is the official California Competition of Ms. Wheelchair America. The Ms. Wheelchair America Program began in 1972 when Dr. Philip K. Hood, an Ohio physician, created a national forum to highlight the achievements of women with disabilities.
Since then, the program has changed the lives of countless women who have participated over the past five decades and has had a deep impact on the disability community.
This empowering competition is not just about crowning a titleholder; it is designed to:

Further develop the advocacy skills of a unique group of leaders

Provide a national network for articulate and accomplished women

Invite the able-bodied community to attain a greater awareness of the potential of all citizens with disabilities.
The newly crowned Ms. Wheelchair California 2027 will go on to compete for Ms. Wheelchair America 2028 in Grand Rapids, MI. August 16 - 22, 2027
