Meet the Ms. Wheelchair CA 2026 Contestants

Rebecca Sentell is a passionate disability advocate, nonprofit leader, and community educator from Mississippi. Living with spina bifida and using a wheelchair full time, she champions accessibility, inclusion, and opportunity for people with disabilities. She serves as Executive Director of Ms. Wheelchair America and State Coordinator for Ms. Wheelchair Mississippi. Professionally, she works as a Rehabilitation Specialist III with the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services.

Crowned Ms. Wheelchair Mississippi in 2017, her platform, “All About the Journey,” focused on educating healthcare professionals on creating disability-friendly medical environments for individuals of all abilities. Holding a Master of Science in Addiction Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, she advocates for mental health awareness, accessibility, and empowerment. A proud wife, dog mom and woman of strong faith, she strives to reflect the love of Jesus in all she does and is honored to serve as a judge for Ms. Wheelchair California 2026. 

Jennifer Kumiyama is a queer Asian, Pacific Islander, and Black woman born with Arthrogryposis and uses a wheelchair daily. A disability activist for over two decades,  her work began in 2002 when Jennifer was cast in Disney’s “Aladdin; a Musical Spectacular” at Disney California Adventure Theme Park, where she was the first performer in a wheelchair to ever be on any Disney stage in the world. Jennifer used her platform at Disney to compete and earn the title of Ms. Wheelchair California 2010, during which she promoted empowerment for youth with disabilities, speaking throughout California and the nation during her reign. Other credits include ‘The Sessions’, MTV’s ‘awkward.’,  and ‘Celebrity Undercover Boss’. 

Recently, Jennifer can be heard as the voice of ‘Dahlia’ in Disney’s animated feature film, ‘WISH’.

Jennifer is the founder of Long Beach Disability Pride, an annual event that celebrates the intersectional beauty of the disabled community and centers disabled joy. She is a proud graduate of Long Beach City College, where she received her AA in  Communication Studies, and now attends California State University Long Beach. Jennifer most recently served as the Citywide Accessibility Coordinator at the City of Long Beach and is the new Executive Director at the Disabled Resources Center. Inc.

Dr. Record is a California-based clinical, neurological, and forensic psychologist, as well as a Diplomate in Behavioral Medicine. He serves on the faculty at California State University, Sacramento, where he teaches courses within the criminal justice division. In addition to his academic role, he works as a consulting forensic psychologist for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and the Board of Parole Hearings.

His clinical experience includes work in acute care hospitals in Orange County, where he has treated cancer patients and individuals with chronic illnesses and supported the recovery of patients following cardiac events and strokes. In 2019, he also served as a judge for the Ms. Wheelchair California Leadership Institute.
