Aly's Story
Aly Corvin is a dancer, advocate, and changemaker dedicated to reshaping societal perceptions of disability. As Ms. Wheelchair California 2025, she is on a mission to ensure that disabled individuals are welcomed in all spaces—not as an afterthought, but as valued members of every community. Her campaign challenges the barriers that prevent disabled people from fully participating in sports, recreation, and the arts, encouraging individuals to push beyond limitations and discover new possibilities.

Aly’s advocacy is deeply personal. After years of misdiagnoses and medical battles, she was finally diagnosed with multiple genetic conditions from 2020-2022—only after her mobility had already been significantly impacted. Despite facing years of systemic barriers, she refused to accept a life of isolation. Through resilience and determination, she regained enough physical strength to only use her wheelchair in emergencies and returned to her passion: dance. However, in June 2024, a traumatic brain injury led to further mobility challenges, causing her to use a wheelchair full-time outside her home. Instead of letting these setbacks define her, Aly has used them as fuel to create change.

Beyond advocacy, Aly thrives on pushing boundaries, defying expectations, and making people rethink what’s possible. She has tried adaptive surfing, baseball, rugby, shooting, cycling, and skiing—not just for personal enjoyment, but to prove that disabled individuals deserve access to the same adrenaline, freedom, and joy as anyone else. Her campaign emphasizes the importance of making adaptive opportunities more available, not only to benefit disabled individuals but to organically reduce stigma among able-bodied communities.

Aly’s story is a testament to resilience, but she believes true change happens when society stops expecting disabled people to fight alone. Her goal is to create a world where accessibility isn’t a privilege—it’s a standard. Whether through her performances, advocacy, or daring approach to life, Aly is proving that disability is not a limitation; it’s an invitation to innovate, to adapt, and to challenge the norms that hold us all back. After all, as Aly says, “If we are lucky enough, we will all reach the day where disability comes knocking at our door. Why not prepare for that together?!”
